Categorization of the main descriptors of different ampicillin crystal habits BJPS
Flórez-Acosta,Oscar; Tobón-Zapata,Gloria; Valencia-Velasquez,Jaime.
With the purpose of enabling the analysis by digital methods of particles of multisource pharmaceutical raw materials, this study analyzed different crystal habits of ampicillin particles, by grouping the external shapes obtained from 3 different solvents (acetonitrile, ethanol, and methanol), thereby reducing the number of descriptors necessary to adequately represent each shape. For this purpose, a selection of morphological descriptors was used including: circularity, roughness, roundness, compactness, aspect ratio, effective diameter, solidity, convexity, fractal dimension, and 10 Complex Fourier descriptors. These measures cover highly diverse morphological properties and define the crystal habit of a particle. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and...

Concordance between botanical groups and genetic diversity in peanut Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Machado,Ingrid Pinheiro; Silva,Fernanda Helena Oliveira da; Matos,Renata Fernandes de; Silva,Tamiris Pereira da; DoVale,Júlio César.
ABSTRACT The aims of this study were to characterize peanut accessions of germplasm collection of the CCA/UFC and check consistency between the pre-existing botanical groups to estimates of genetic diversity. For this were conducted a trial with 43 accessions of peanut in a randomized block design with three replications. To characterization were used 21 morphological descriptors, where revealed large genetic variation. The mass hundred grains trait showed the main discriminating factors, with relative percentage of 22.1%. The cluster obtained with the linkage complete method, it was possible to view the dendrogram the formation of seven groups based on the Mahalanobis distance. By principal components analysis was identified phenotypic diversity among...

GENETIC DIVERGENCE AMONG Passiflora cristalina Vanderpl & Zappi. GENOTYPES BASED ON FLOWER AND FRUIT CHARACTERISTICS Rev. Bras. Frutic.
SILVEIRA,GREICIELE FARIAS DA; ROSSI,ANA APARECIDA BANDINI; VARELLA,TATIANE LEMOS; CARVALHO,MAURECILNE LEMES DA SILVA; SILVA,CAROLINA JOANA DA.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the genetic divergence among Passiflora cristalina genotypes and quantify the relative contribution of 30 flower and fruit characteristics, seeking to support the preservation and characterization of genetic resources of the species for preservation and use in future breeding programs. We evaluated 150 fruit and 150 flowers collected in 15 genotypes with naturally occurring in the municipality of Alta Floresta, MT. The characterization of genotypes was performed through 30 morphological characteristics of flowers and fruits, 21 of these for flower and 9 for fruit. Data were evaluated using the principal components and cluster methods obtained by UPGMA method from the similarity matrix (Euclidian mean distance), using...

Morphological characterization of the American oil palm collection Elaeis oleifera (Kunth) Cortés Acta Agron. (Palmira)
Moreno-Caicedo,Leidy Paola; Bastidas-Pérez,Silvio Erasmo.
Abstract 59 accessions of the American oil palm, also known as Nolí palm, were characterized in the Research center El Mira of Corpoica -Colombia. Based on 13 qualitative descriptors, in order to identify genotypes with desired traits for use in the breeding program. The multiple correspondence analyses allowed to identify five factors which express 100 % of the collection variability. The affinity hierarchical classification identified four groups by descriptors action: form of reproduction, unripening fruit bunch color, ripening fruit bunch color, fiber percentage in the bunch and bunch exhibition percentage. 97.3 % of the palms, performs a prostrated stem, 100 % of total population, performs inserted leaflets in single plane. In the palm collection...

Phenotypic variability among pumpkin accessions in the Brazilian semiarid Horticultura Brasileira
Borges,Rita Mércia E; Resende,Geraldo M de; Lima,Maria Auxiliadora C de; Dias,Rita de Cássia S; Lubarino,Paloma Clementino da C; Oliveira,Regina Célia da S; Gonçalves,Nadja Pollyanna da S.
The aim of this study was to estimate the phenotypic divergence among fourteen pumpkins accessions of the cucurbits Germplasm Active Bank of Embrapa Semiárido, in order to support breeding program to these species. Nine morphoagronomic descriptors were analyzed by the principal components and by UPGMA techniques. In the analysis of principal components, the formation of three contrasting clusters was observed, each one composed of two accessions. There occurred also the formation of one core group composed of five accessions, being the accessions called 683 and 684 collected in Bahia and the other in Maranhão. The most divergent accessions were 620, 624 and 748. The variables of the greatest contribution to the genetic divergence were diameter, weight and...

Selection and use recommendation in hybrids of ornamental pineapple Rev. Ciênc. Agron.
Souza,Everton Hilo de; Costa,Maria Angélica Pereira de Carvalho; Santos-Serejo,Janay Almeida; Souza,Fernanda Vidigal Duarte.
The use of pineapples as ornamental plants has increased in the last years due to their beauty and originality, demanding the generation of new varieties. The objective of the present work was to study the genetic variability and type of use of hybrids as ornamental pineapples, besides evaluating the resistance of these hybrids to Fusarium wilt. Six progenies, FRF-22 X FRF-1387, FRF-1392 X FRF-32, Curauá Roxo X Ananás Tricolor, G-44 X FRF-1387, FRF-1392 X FRF-224 and FRF-1387 X FRF-224, were evaluated by eleven morphological descriptors, and five categories of use were taken into account: landscaping plants, cut flower, potted plants, minifruits and foliage. High variability within and between progenies was detected, which allowed the selection of 16...
